My 2024 RAV4 Hybrid came with minimal tint on the back windows and none on the front doors or the windshield. This vehicle is a very dark gray (certainly not my first choice). It attracts the desert heat, and the glare has made driving quite difficult and uncomfortable. I read reviews of the nearest businesses that provided window tint services and chose West Valley Tint in Surprise. I phoned and spoke with Daniel, the owner, who explained the options available to me. I decided on the darkest tint for the rear windows and legal tint for the front doors. After Daniel explained the benefits of tinting the windshield, I added that coverage. I chose ceramic tint, which is supposed to be the best for our extreme temperatures. Although window film has been around for decades, Geoshield products are different than conventional films. Geoshield uses advanced ceramic materials, similar to those used in NASA's Space Shuttle, to create a spectrally selective window film.
Geoshield has produced a film that is virtually clear but blocks out harmful UV and heat. Their nano-ceramic technology blocks specific wavelengths of infrared light and UV while allowing a high percentage of visible light to pass through.

Unfortunately, most tint shops can’t answer them honestly. Here’s what they reveal.
Most shops carry general liability insurance, which covers their building and injuries on the property but not your vehicle. Garagekeepers insurance is the specific policy that covers customer vehicles while they’re being worked on. Many shops say “we’re insured” without specifying which kind.
Window tint is installed wet, which means any dust, pollen, or debris in the air can land between the film and the glass and lock there permanently. Mobile installers working in driveways, carports, or open garages can’t control the environment. A clean, enclosed shop is the only way to guarantee a contamination-free install.
Most shops list a lifetime warranty. Unfortunately, far fewer honor it without a fight. Ask exactly what’s covered, what voids it, and whether the warranty is from the shop or the film manufacturer. A real warranty covers bubbling, peeling, cracking, and color shift, with no runaround.
When a shop gives you a price over the phone for tint they’re usually quoting their cheapest film, either dyed or carbon, and planning to upsell you to ceramic once you arrive. Always ask the brand name, the specific product line, and whether it’s dyed, carbon, or ceramic. Lower tier films like dyed or carbon allow more heat transmission, and turn purple and fade in the Arizona sun.

Yes! Arizona allows tinting on all windows with specific darkness limits. Front side windows must allow at least 33% light transmission, while back windows can be any darkness.
